About Brett Bacon

Brett Bacon is a bestselling author whose work bridges fiction and nonfiction with uncommon depth and range. His stories span thrillers, horror, fantasy, romantic comedy, and children’s literature, while his nonfiction distills hard-earned lessons in business, sales, and law into clear, practical guidance. Across genres, his mission remains constant: to write stories that move people—and ideas that move them forward.

Writing is Brett’s fourth career, following three decades of accomplishment as a soldier, lawyer, and entrepreneur. He began his professional life as a U.S. Army Judge Advocate General officer, where he handled complex legal disputes involving government contracts, construction projects, and weapons systems. After leaving the service, he built a successful legal career, representing clients ranging from Fortune 100 corporations to small business owners, and advising on matters of strategy, negotiation, and growth.

Brett went on to found and operate several successful companies from his kitchen table, including ventures in real estate, sales consulting, and retail health care—one of which grew over twenty years into a thriving franchise acquisition. These experiences inform his nonfiction work on entrepreneurship, persuasion, and leadership, as well as the ethical and psychological realism that runs through his fiction.

Since 2009, Brett has written and published sixteen books in three languages and was inducted into the National Academy of Bestselling Authors. His fiction combines sharp intellect with emotional authenticity, drawing on the full measure of his life experience.

When he’s not at the desk or on the page, Brett can often be found outdoors casting a fly into the quiet waters of New Hampshire’s Great North Woods, tending bonsai trees, or exploring new ideas for the next story. His work, whether a haunting novel or a practical business guide, reflects the same conviction: that a well-lived life, like a well-told story, should be both purposeful and unforgettable.

Brett is also the Founder and Publisher of Dead Hand Publishing Company, an independent press dedicated to dark, imaginative storytelling in horror, thrillers, and fantasy.

Brett's business books don't waste time. I applied his advice the same day.
